During the weekend of 28-30 June, the one-off JLP-4, entered under the 'Ecurie Tycoonaire' flag, was one of the central attractions at the Vernasca Silver Flag event in Castell'Arquato, Italy. The Vernasca Silver Flag is a dynamic concours d'élégance for race cars, that were able to run twice a day on a closed road which was once the site of a famous hillclimb. The format of the event is much similar to Goodwood's Festival of Speed, with rare historic cars from all over the world taking part. Apart from being able to make it up the hill, despite the tight corners and Daytona-geared gearbox with locked differential, JLP-4 was awarded the coveted 'Spirit of Motoring' trophy by auction house Coys. The JLP-4 also won the special prize offered by Porsche for the most prestigious racing Porsche present at the event, in the face of stiff opposition from other important cars like the Porsche 934, 906, 907 and the ex-Steve McQueen go8. During the event the car was also put on display on behalf of the John Paul Junior Huntingdon Disease Foundation project.
